When will I get my Bank of America prepaid debit card?
You will receive your EDD BoA Debit card within 10 business days of your first weeks’ PAID status on an unemployment benefits certified week. However, the average wait time is usually around a week.
If you selected you would prefer to receive paper checks, you will not be receiving a EDD prepaid debit card.
Please note, in some rare cases EDD or Bank of America will opt out of a card for a claimant for various security reasons and will automatically switch the claimant to paper checks which a claimant will also receive by mail within 10 business days. If you are unsure of your status and have not received your EDD Bank of America Prepaid Debit Card within 10 business days then you can call the EDD Bank of America Phone Customer Service Number 1-866-692-9374 or EDD Claims Line at 1-800-300-5616.
You also have the option of checking your status by going to your UI Online account and clicking “Payments”. If any of the payment statuses say “Outstanding” then you can expect to receive a check instead of a EDD BoA Prepaid Debit Card.
Where is my EDD debit card? Is there a way to track my Bank of America EDD debit card?
While claimants or representatives do not have access to the official delivery tracking number assigned to a EDD BoA Prepaid Debit card that has been ordered and sent out, there is a way to check if it's actually been issued out. The day after your EDD certified weeks show as “PAID” on the EDD UI Online website (first certification only) you can call 1-866-692-9374 and request what date the card was issued. This normally happens the same day of approval if early enough in the day. As long as the card is registered as “ordered” then you can expect to receive it within 7-10 business days.
How long will funds appear on my debit card after I certify?
Once the status of a certified week says PAID then you can expect funds to process onto your EDD Bank of America Prepaid Debit Card by the following morning. The average wait time for benefits to show up onto your debit card is 24-48 hours but can be longer over a weekend or holiday. It could also take longer if you certified for multiple weeks.

Scroll down and go to Recurring Transfer and Transfer-To Accounts

Connect it to your bank of choice by adding the corresponding account and routing number.
2. Set up text alerts

Add your phone number or e-mail address -- whatever you prefer for notifications.
Check off "Value Load" - you'll get a notification for when money gets deposited

That’s it!! Now you don’t have to constantly sign in and monitor your account for when EDD is extra slow in processing your funds.
Once you have completed this you are able to view your balance, transfer your funds to your bank. When you are at the home page you have the option to pick the following, action you can use:

Depending on a claimant and their account history, some people may have certain spending limits on their card. For example, if a claimant has any type of security flag on their account, they may have a spending limit of $2000 a day. This would vary and be separate from the ATM withdrawal limit. If you notice that your card is being repeatedly frozen when you attempt to make a purchase or payment then you should call Bank of America Customer service line to find out what your personal spending limits are and if they can be removed or not. This is usually an issue for people who had several months of stuck benefits that were eventually released to them and they received a lump sum of money from EDD.
My card was declined after trying to make a purchase and when I called BoA EDD Customer Service Line it said my account was closed. What does that mean?
Usually, when an automated message says that the account is closed it means that the account was temporarily frozen because of a suspicious transaction or a customer exceeded their daily limit. You can ask to speak to a customer service representative to have the card reopened in order to continue using it. In some scenarios you may have to speak to the risk department in order to verify your identity and authenticate the account.
How does Bank of America EDD verify your identity?
There are 3 ways BoA can authenticate an account user/ verify your identity over the phone.
If a client has set up their account, they will have set up a series of security questions i.e. “what is your favorite color?” that will always be asked any time an account is needing to be authenticated. This is the easiest and most efficient way to verify your identity.
If an account has not been set up, then Bank of America will ask you a series of multiple choice questions based on public record. These questions tend to be extremely difficult and often confusing. You will always have an option to answer “D) none of the above.
In some scenarios, Bank of America can verify you by texting a code to your phone that you will repeat back to them. You can always ask for the option if option 2 is unattainable. However, there is no guarantee your account will have this option.See AlsoWays To Spend Less Time Doing Housework - The Not Perfect HousewifeWork From Home Jobs in Boston, MA - Apply Now | CareerBuilderEverything you need to know before getting laser hair removalAmazon work from home data entry jobs (that pay up to $38/hr)(Video) Login Bank of America EDD Debit Card | Sign in
